TCL Unveils NXTPAPER 3.0, Promising Enhanced Display Technology

TCL, the Chinese tech giant, has officially introduced the third generation of its proprietary display technology, NXTPAPER 3.0, featuring several improvements compared to its predecessor.

Since 2021, TCL has been offering NXTPAPER technology to the public, promoting it as a solution that makes smart device screens comfortable for the eyes while surpassing traditional screens. The technology boasts anti-glare properties and blocks a significant amount of blue light emitted by screens, aiming to preserve visual health.

Beyond the health considerations, NXTPAPER also claims to maintain image clarity, deep contrast, vibrant colors, and natural motion. The recently unveiled NXTPAPER 3.0 continues to deliver these features with additional enhancements.

TCL has implemented a new mechanism called Circularly Polarized Light (CPL), mimicking the path of natural light. This contributes to creating an optical effect resembling the experience of reading books in natural light, providing additional comfort for the eyes.

The new NXTPAPER 3.0 technology from TCL features high refresh rates and dimming mechanisms to prevent screen glare. It boasts an increased brightness level by 10% compared to the previous generation. The company has also added a light sensor allowing the screen to automatically adjust color temperature based on time and ambient lighting, enhancing the viewing experience.

NXTPAPER 3.0 offers three display modes: regular mode for everyday use with default low blue light, color paper mode with low contrast suitable for reading illustrated stories, and black-and-white mode for e-reading.

It's worth noting that TCL also provides additional software solutions to care for users' eyes during digital screen usage. These include reminders to take breaks and alerts for low lighting conditions or when the user is too close to the screen.

TCL showcased the NXTPAPER 3.0 technology in several new products during CES 2024, including the NXTPAPER 14 Pro and TAB 10 NXTPAPER 5G tablets, as well as the TCL 50 series of smartphones.
